Class
Confirmation Class Convenes
A new class of “Confirmands” has met for a brief orientation and has
begun their Confirmation Class activities on Sunday, March 2nd. The class will meet on Sundays after worship from 12:15 – 2:30 p.m. with June
8th as the target date for concluding the program and joining the church.
Confirmation is the process by which our young people prepare to “confirm” the baptismal vows taken on their behalf by their parents when they were baptized as infants. Our program includes instruction in Bible Basics, Worship and Sacraments, Church Polity and Government, and Basic Beliefs.
This year’s Confirmation Class includes the following 7th and 8th grade students: Kacie Aitken, Kyle Cantwell, Carson King, Cody LaFever, Kelsey Little, Stosh Pawlikowski and Noah Oliver. Let’s keep these young people in our prayers as they deepen their faith and prepare to join fully in the life and mission of First Presbyterian Church. If you are interested in joining the church
or have questions concerning the confirmation program, please speak to Pastor Allen or Gia Cantwell (746-3611).
Mission
Emphasis
One Great Hour of Sharing
One Great Hour of Sharing
March & April Mission Emphasis
Sharing changes lives …
including our own.
Remember your earliest lessons about sharing? At the time, sharing may have seemed like a burden, a needless sacrifice … giving up part of what you believed was rightfully yours.
Over time, however, we come to realize that all of our gifts come from God, and that sharing actually enriches us. In blessing others with our gifts, goodness and love flow from our hearts. And blessing returns to us, subtly but surely changing us, building that desire to respond even more generously to God’s call “to do good and to share what we have.”
One Great Hour of Sharing offers an opportunity for each of us to share with people in need around the world … giving them much more than a handout. When we share our resources, we help assure that children suffering from disease receive not only treatment, but enjoy the benefits of a community made safer with proper sanitation and clean sources of water. We partner with a family living in hunger, offering them not just food, but the tools and training to build a sustainable source of income for themselves … improving their world and ours.
When we share our resources through One Great Hour of Sharing, we make a difference in the lives of others. We reach around the world, giving shape to the heart of Christ.
And when we understand how the blessing of sharing changes lives, our own lives are never again the same. Let us give One Great Hour of Sharing our prayerful and generous support. We will receive our offerings for One Great Hour of Sharing during the months of March and
April and dedicate the offering to its intended uses in April.
