Holy Communion

As members of the Body of Christ, the First Presbyterian Church of Delhi is a congregation at worship. In our Sabbath assembly we remember God's claim on our lives, we renew our faith commitment, we recount the stories of God's saving acts, we recite our praise and thanks to the Creator and we rehearse the love of our redeeming Lord. You are invited to join us each Sunday morning as we worship the triune God to whom we belong and whom we affirm as the Lord of all life.

Summer Sermon Series

“The Beatitudes”

This summer Pastor Allen will once again be leaving the lectionary and offering an alternative focus for our summer worship. At the beginning of Jesus’ most concentrated collection of teachings … the Sermon on the Mount … are eight simple sayings which we have come to know as the Beatitudes. This group of sayings holds some important clues to understanding the nature of the Christian life. Each of these eight “beatitudes” will be the subject of an eight week series of sermons.

For advance preparation for these messages, read and re-read the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew, Chapters 5 through 7. Pay particular attention to Matthew 5:1-10. Perhaps by the end of the summer we’ll all know these verses by heart!
