Group News
This year’s mission trip will be the biggest trip yet! We have
29 people signed up to work for God in Myrtle Beach. We have 7 adults, including a returning college student, and
22 youth heading south to build wheel chair ramps, do minor repair and spread God’s love. We are very excited and can’t wait to go!
We are continuing our local mission of helping with the Angel Food Ministry Delivery each month. Those couple hours a month mean a lot to the people of United Ministry as they do their part to reach out to God’s people. We are very happy to help.
This summer the youth group will be helping out another group of local people. Each Friday night in July, the youth group will help the Kiwanis with the set up and tear down of their tents and grills. They needed a hand and are willing to support us in our endeavors and we are more than happy to give them a hand. We will also be filling in for the Boy Scouts on July 9 setting up the benches and tables while they march in a parade.
Youth Group News
Youth group is gearing up for a busy month of July. Each Friday night, look for us on the Square. We will be helping out the Kiwanis group with their set up and tear down each Friday. The second Friday, we will be filling in for the Boy Scouts and doing the set up of all the tables and benches. If you are signed up or in town on Friday, set up starts at 4:00, tear down starts at 8:00.
We are searching for new ways to help our friend Dennis Gaboury and his Zimkids. If you know of an organization that would like to hear Dennis and learn about Zim Kids, let us know. We are going to try to be the minute for mission.
July 24 is the day the youth group takes off for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to build handicap ramps and do other minor house repairs for elderly. We have a big group going this year; 30 people all together. When you see one of the following kids and chaperones, wish them well. Elise Bray, Alex Cantwell, Stephanie McKeegan, Wade Clark, Libby Aerhart, Kelsey Little, Kyle Cantwell, Carson King,
Chimey Palyul, Cody LaFever, Stanley Pawlikoski, Ashley Terry, Marissa Heannings, Kyrra Howard, Sam Howard, Allison Maxwell, Bethany Althaus, Erica Cantwell, Russell Koronowski, Curt Beall. Jason Little,
Amanda Maxwell, Jackie Howard, Joe Cantwell, Diane Maxwell, Megan Cantwell, Joan Pawlikowski, Ben Bray and Susie Little. We thank you again for all of your continued support. Without the congregation, we wouldn’t be reaching out and serving God’s people in the way that we do. If anyone would like to help out one more time, we are looking for donations of snacks and drinks for the ride down and while there. Water bottles, juice pouches and snack packs of chips, goldfish, etc, or cookies would be appreciated. You can drop them off at church in the special box in the office.
Congratulations and good luck
to all of our graduates!
Youth group is going to miss our graduating seniors. We wish Amanda, Bethany, Erica, Jason, Russell, Curt and Karli the very best as they start the next chapter in their lives. May God keep you safe and help your realize your potentials! Come back and visit us and keep in touch!

Did You Know?
On Friday through Saturday, April 16-17, 56 youth and adult advisors from half a dozen area churches bussed to the Meadowlands in New Jersey to participate in Acquire the Fire, an overnight event to build commitment and enthusiasm for Christ among his teenage followers. The event featured some terrific speakers, great Christian music, and fellowship with thousands of kids from all over the eastern half of the country.
First Presbyterian Church, under the leadership of Susie Little and our other youth advisors, was instrumental in organizing the trip. And once again this year, the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley invested mission dollars to help make it happen. We received a $2,500 grant from Presbytery to help finance the event and keep the cost affordable for the participants. You will recall that last year Presbytery provided a $5,000 grant to help with the costs of the Dare-to-Share event in Columbus, Ohio. We are grateful for our Presbyter’s partnership with us in these great youth events.
We also received a generous grant of $2,500 from the O’Conner Foundation to assist with trip expenses. We certainly appreciate the resources of the O’Conner Foundation which make so many things possible in the Delhi area.
Don’t forget to drop your returnable bottles and cans off at the church in the new narthex. We really appreciate all your help in our fundraising efforts towards our next mission trip!
Once again, we thank you for all your support.
